Our Mission:
Heart
The Mothership is a heart-based preschool with an organic learning environment that focuses on evoking the full essence of each child in order to nurture families and support our community. We do this through a curriculum that focuses on embracing the whole child and includes the arts, nature discovery, music, and mindfulness. As a result, our children feel seen, thrive in their learning environment, develop deep empathy and curiosity for the world around them, and use their creativity to solve problems.
Discovering Essence
The Mothership offers a holistic early childhood program focused on the essence of the child. The role of the teacher is to detect the unseen, unspeakable, magical beauty in our little ones. We place each child’s uniqueness at the forefront of our interactions and value what they bring to our community.
Our Curriculum
nature discovery
We explore nature both inside and outside the classroom and learn from what nature has to teach us. We observe the weather daily and are curious about the changing seasons. We picnic, take discovery walks, create natural murals, and eat from our gardens.
music and mindfulness
Music is a tool of regulation. As children experience a spectrum of emotions, music is a powerful way to guide them through awareness, acceptance, and action to help them navigate their ever-changing world.
learning through the arts
Through activities with the arts, children learn to express the “mysterious” – their rapidly growing understandings, their thoughts, and their feelings.
Inclusive Community
The Mothership is a shared space created to welcome all – this includes the families we serve, the children we teach, the various caregivers that support those families, and our staff. We want all to feel welcome and included in everything we do.
Our Offerings
The Mothership endeavors to offer an enriching, playful, educational environment for children and the people who love them. Our space is buzzing with activities year-round, and we believe our programs will uniquely fit your family’s needs.
Preschool
We offer a nine-month preschool for children ages 1 to 5 years. We are a play-based program and our curriculum embraces the whole child. Our hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Summer camps
Come play with us this summer. Each summer we offer weekly camps filled with art, music, creative play, and nature walks for children ages 2-6.
